The St James Football Association has cancelled this afternoon’s schedule of matches in the Claro Super League as a result of the death of referee Andre Gayle.

Gayle, who was scheduled to officiate the Melbourne, Gully Ambassador game, was shot dead this morning at his work place.

President of the St James Football Association, George Evans and general secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation, Horace Reid, have expressed their sympathies to family and friends of Gayle.

Reid says the entire football fraternity should take a moment to reflect on Gayle’s contribution and service to football and his country.
