England on course to sweep second test
England have put themselves into a strong position to sweep the two-Test series against Bangladesh after today’s fourth day of the second Test at Shere Bangla National Stadium.
Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann claimed two wickets each to restrict hosts Bangladesh to 172 for six. It means that Bangladesh are leading by 95 runs with four wickets left.
Tamim Iqbal scored 52 off 68 balls, including five boundaries, for his seventh test fifty after being dropped on 47 by Jonathan Trott.
His innings ended when he was caught by Broad off Swann.
Broad took two for 37 and Swann 2 for 38
Earlier, Tim Bresnan was ninth out for 91 as England converted their overnight 440 for 8 into a satisfactory 496 all out in reply to Bangladesh’s 419.
Shakib Al Hasan ended as the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with four for 124, while Abdur Razzak had three for 132.
England won the first test by 181 runs.
