Cuba receives Wheat from Russia

Cuba has received a shipment of more than 25,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia.

Russian diplomats say the shipment is the first of a projected 100,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid expected this year.

Major food importer Cuba has seen its crop yields hard hit by major hurricanes in recent years.

The cash-strapped island has little access to international credit to buy food on international markets.
