The European Union and a coalition of US-based humanitarian groups say they will pledge more than $2.7 billion in aid to help earthquake-devastated Haiti recover and rebuild.
The pledges are expected to be made next week at a UN conference.
The EU Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, Kristalina Georgieva, says the EU is likely to commit 1.3 billion euros over three years at the planned March 31 donors meeting.
A coalition of 193 US humanitarian groups has also indicated that they will pledge at least $464 million for reconstruction and $421 million for relief at the UN conference.
