Jamaica open with victory
Reigning champions Jamaica defeated Barbados by 64 run at Inshan Ali Park today for a perfect start to their West Indies Under-15 Championship campaign in Trinidad and Tobago.
Jamaica batting first were dismissed for 196 off 49.5 overs. Shawn Lodge top scored with 37, while Brandon King chipped in with 33 and Kenneil Anniford 24 not out.
Jerome Jones took most wickets for Barbados with three for 26. Chad Williams two for 33 and Dario Boyce two for 11 supported him.
Needing 197 for victory, Barbados were dismissed for 132 off 42.1 overs against the bowling of Kenneil Anniford four for 12.
Fabien Allen and Marquino Mindley finished with two wickets apiece.
At the National Cricket Centre Trinidad and Tobago beat Leeward Islands by 162 runs, while Guyana defeated Windward Islands by 45 runs at Gilbert Park.
