A Hindu holy man in India has quit as head of a religious organisation after police launched a probe into allegations of sexual obscenity against him.
Thirty-two year-old Nithyananda Swami\'s announcement comes weeks after a video emerged apparently showing him engaging in sexual acts with two women.
In a statement, he said he was resigning as the head of his organisation known as Knowledge Centre, and from all the trusts associated with him.
His organisation has branches in several countries, including the US and Europe.
The police have since launched an investigation into the incident.
However, the guru has said he has done nothing illegal and the video scandal was a false campaign.
