The coach and lawyer representing Caster Semenya have been told that she cannot run today at a meet in South Africa because the International Association of Athletics Federations has yet to release its findings from her gender verification tests.

Coach Michael Seme and lawyer Greg Nott asked the organizers of the Yellow Pages Series athletics meet in Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, to allow the 19-year-old runner to compete.

However that request was denied by Richard Stander, the chief executive of the local Boland Athletics association and meet organizer.

Semenya won the women\'s 800-metre race at the 2009 world championships in Berlin, but she has not run competitively since.
