The United Nations children’s organization UNICEF says it has registered over 600 children who were separated from their families in the aftermath of January\'s devastating earthquake in Haiti.
However the agency said it believes the real total may be considerably larger.
UNICEF says caring for these children is an immediate priority.
The organization said Haiti had one of the most serious child protection crises in the world even before the quake hit.
