According to Ellen Lewis, the corporate communications director at Trinidad’s Water and Sewerage Authority the country’s storage facilities have fallen considerably.

She says the country is now running on about one third of its water supplies.

It has been several months since there has been any significant rainfall in the twin-island nation and meteorological officials have said they do not expect the situation to change in the near future.

Due to the water shortage, measures have been implemented to prohibit using the commodity for activities such as watering lawns and washing vehicles.
