West Indies women’s coach Sherwin Campbell has backed his side to be very competitive in the 20/20 World Championship starting in St Kitts next month.

Campbell says the squad has improved over the last year and the series win over England last November has given the team a fresh injection of confidence.

England have been dominating women’s cricket for the last two years.

West Indies have been drawn in a tough Group A, where they will clash with reigning champions England, Australia and South Africa.

Campbell says the players are looking forward to an exciting build-up period.

The players will be involved in a six-day camp starting on Sunday. After the camp the team will have two One Day Internationals against Sri Lanka and eight 20/20 games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
