Cayman eyes US health tourism

The government in the Cayman Islands has signed an agreement to permit the building of a medical hospital and university that might eventually house 2,000 beds.



The move is aimed at diversifying health tourism.



Dr Devi Shetty, the Indian heart surgeon behind the project, says he’s aiming at the American market.



He believes he can offer a cheaper service notwithstanding recent US health reform.
