Jamaica continue winning ways at Festival
Brenton Parchment scored an unbeaten half-century to guide Jamaica to a four-wicket victory over Canada in their Jamaica Cricket Festival 50-over contest at the Port Rhodes Sports Club in Discovery Bay, St Ann today.
Parchment hit 71 as Jamaica, set a victory target of 149, ended on 150 for six off 28.1 overs.
It was Jamaica’s second victory in the festival following a four-wicket victory over Ireland at the same venue yesterday.
Earlier, Canada sent in to bat were dismissed for 148 in 41 overs against the bowling of Odean Brown four for 33, Bernard Junior two for 23 and Krishmar Santokie two for 24.
The festival continues on Saturday with two Twenty/Twenty matches at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium. The games are Jamaica facing Ireland and West Indies playing Canada.
