Reggae Boy Lisbie gets marching orders
Reggae Boy Kevin Lisbie was sent off as Colchester’s promotion bid suffered a blow with a 1-0 loss to Charlton Athletic in the English League One at the Valley yesterday.
The 31-year-old striker was given marching orders late in the dying stages of the contest for an off-the-ball incident, adding insult to a loss that has left them three points outside the play-off zone with five games left.
Lisbie, who has scored 12 times this season, could have scored early in the contest against his former club but had his shot saved by goalkeeper Darren Randolph after a neat build-up with John-Joe O’Toole.
Nicky Forster’s 21st minute goal decided the match when he produced a diving header from Lloyd Sam’s cross, from eight yards out.
The loss was Colchester’s third in four outings.
