Barbados Central Bank Governor, Delisle Worrell is reporting that the finances of government and business in the country remain very tight.
According to Dr. Worrell, the first quarter assessment indicates that output fell by less than 1 per cent while unemployment remained unchanged at about 10 per cent.
Dr Worrell says visitor numbers grew by 2 per cent although average spend and stay were down in January and February, the traditional best performing period for the tourism-dependent economy.
He says the financial constraints will continue until demand picks up.
