Several Jamaicans are among 15 people in the custody of the US Immigration and Customs department.
They were held after federal agents swooped down on a boatload of migrants who landed on Miami Beach this week after a trip from the Bahamas.
A spokesperson from US Immigration and Customs says 15 of the migrants were rounded up.
She says most of them are men and women from Haiti and Jamaica while four of them are from Sri Lanka.
