Information Bill proposed

The government of the Bahamas says it plans to introduce a freedom of information bill.
New Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes made the announcement at the opening of Parliament yesterday.
He told legislators during his Throne Speech that Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham\'s administration will file a freedom of information bill.
The propsed bill will improve public access to government records.
Sir Arthur says it will provide the Bahamian people and the media with greater access to government decision-making and actions.
Sir Arthur was sworn in yesterday to be the British Queen\'s representative in the country.
He’s a veteran politician and diplomat who started his career as a reporter and editor at a Bahamian newspaper.
