Former US President Bill Clinton believes Haiti will be able to hold elections this year in spite of the destruction caused by the earthquake in January.
In an interview on Tuesday, Haitian President Rene Preval pledged to hold elections this year despite the massive difficulties of organising a successful poll.
Mr. Clinton who is the United Nations envoy says Haiti will need help to stage its presidential vote and already-delayed parliamentary elections.
A mission from the Organisation of American States (OAS) reported this week that there seemed to be general agreement in Haiti to hold all elections at one time.
