LIME gives $800,000 to teams to Penn Relays
Telecommunication firm LIME has provided $800,000 to help 16 educational institutions to send teams to the 2010 Penn Relays scheduled for April 22 to 24 at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
The company presented cheques valued at $50,000 each to representatives from 15 high schools and one University during a presentation ceremony at the Hilton Hotel earlier this afternoon.
LIME also provided Jus Talk calling cards valued at $1,000 to each of the teams so athletes, officials and coaches can keep in touch with friends and family at home in Jamaica.
Among the high schools, which received cheques today, were Wolmers’ Boys and Holmwood Technical who won the recently concluded Boys and Girls Athletics Championships.
University of Technology also received support from the telecom community.
