Thomas calls for review
Grenada’s Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has called for the membership of his National Democratic Congress (NDC) to vote out constituency leaders who have been accused of under-performing.
In recent weeks, trade unionist Chester Humphrey has been predicting that that the opposition New National Party (NNP), of former Prime Minister Keith Mitchell would be returned to power in the next elections.
According to Mr Humphrey, there has been a collapse of the political arm of the NDC.
NDC executive members and independent political commentators have also said that the ruling party’s political machinery has collapsed since it formed the government and ended the NNP’s 13 years in office.
The NDC has been under intense public scrutiny lately with senior members of the Cabinet having to reject claims of a rebel faction and infighting.
