West Indies-A beat Zimbabwe by six wickets
West Indies ‘A’ beat Zimbabwe by six wickets on today’s final day of their four-day, first-class match at the Queen’s Park Stadium in Grenada.
Set 257 for victory, West Indies reached the target for the loss of four wickets with Kirk Edwards leading the way with an undefeated 71 off 96 balls.
Kraigg Brathwaite also got a half-century. He scored 63 off 166 balls. Shane Dowrich 33 not out, Travis Dowlin 31 and Jason Haynes 30 also got among the runs.
Earlier, Zimbabwe, trailing by 95 runs on first innings, were dismissed for 351 after resuming on 322 for seven.
Shane Shillingford was West Indies ‘A’ most successful bowler with four for 109, while Shannon Gabriel and Nelon Pascal supported with two wickets apiece.
Andy Blignaut top scored for Zimbabwe with 72, Tatenda Taibu scored 59, Craig Ervine 58, Graeme Cremer 47 and Hamilton Masakadza 30.
Scores in the match so far are Zimbabwe 183 and 351; West Indies ‘A’ 280 and 257 for four.
