Tivoli hammer STATHS
Tivoli Gardens hammered St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS), 12-0 at the Mona Hockey turf to remain unbeaten in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Jamaica Hockey Federation Under-16 school competition.
Javoy Gilbert led Tivoli Gardens to victory with five goals.
As a result of the victory, Tivoli Garden have joined defending champions Munro College atop Zone ‘A’ of the boys’ table on six points, three ahead of third place Excelsior; who edged Wolmer’s Boys 1-0.
STATHS and Wolmer’s Boys are without a point from two games.
In the girls’ competition, Papine thrashed Wolmer’s Girls 8-0 to hold on to the lead in Zone ‘B’ with six points.
They are three points ahead of second place Excelsior who blanked Queens 2-0.
The competition continues this afternoon with three games. Zone ‘B’ joint leaders Papine and Mona High will be in action. Papine and Jamaica College will face off at 1p.m., while Mona will play Kingston College at 4p.m.
In the day’s other game, Mona and Immaculate will clash in a Girl Zone ‘A’ match.
