Excelsior beat STATHS
Excelsior defeated St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS), 2-0 as the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Jamaica Hockey Federation Under-16 competitions continued yesterday at the Mona Hockey turf.
With the victory, Excelsior have joined defending champions Munro College in second place in Zone ‘A’ of the boys’ standings with six points each.
The two schools are a point behind leaders Tivoli Gardens on seven points.
Tivoli Gardens were held to a goalless draw by Wolmer’s Boys, who are second-from-the-bottom on one point.
STATHS are at the bottom of the table without a point.
In the day’s other game, Papine remain top of Zone ‘B’ of the girls’ competition despite a goalless draw with Excelsior.
Papine have moved to seven points, three ahead of second place Excelsior on four.
The competition continues this afternoon with three games.
Leaders St Andrew and bottom place Mona High will face off in a Zone ‘A’ girls’ match starting at 1 p.m., while second place Alpha Academy will meet third place Immaculate at 4 p.m.
The other game will feature Kingston College against Campion in a Zone ‘B’ boys’ encounter.
