Opposition parties in Trinidad and Tobago have signed an agreement on a coalition to fight the country’s general election in May.

The leader of the coalition Kamla Persad-Bissessar has not yet disclosed the details of the people’s partnership document.

However, she told a campaign rally that the alliance is united across party and ethnic lines.

The main parties to the deal are the parliamentary opposition United National Congress, the third party Congress of the People and other less well-known interest groups.
