Defending Champions Tivoli Gardens suffered a major setback in their quest to retain the Digicel Premier League title following a 2-0 away defeat to sixth place Village United at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny.

It was Tivoli’s first defeat to Village United in four meetings this season.

Tivoli Gardens, who entered the day a point behind tournament leaders Harbour View, have now dropped four points behind as the ‘Stars of the East’ scored a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over St George’s in an away fixture at Lynch Park in Portland.

Harbour View have now surged to 70 points with three games remaining in the season, while Tivoli Gardens remain on 66 points.

Decoy Williams in the 54th minute and Raffick Thomas in the 89th minute scored for Harbour View after St Georges had taken a ninth minute lead through Ricardo Watson.

Meanwhile, Waterhouse remain in third place after blanking recently crowned Flow Champions Cup Knockout winners Boys Town 2-1 at Drewsland Stadium.

Boys’ Town also hold their fifth position, just a point ahead of sixth place Village United.

In the relegation group, seventh Portmore United defeated second-from-the-bottom Sporting Central 3-1 at Ferdie Neita Park; eighth place Humble Lions defeated last place August Town 4-1 at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon, while ninth place Rivoli United and 10th place Arnett Gardens battled to a goalless draw at the Anthony Spaulding Complex.
