The Trinidad and Tobago police say they are moving to block artistes whose music contribute and appear to influence gang-related activity and behavior, from entering the country.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Gilbert Reyes says the police have been under pressure in dealing with an increase in gang related activities.

Mr Reyes says the police can no longer afford to have artistes with gang-styled music in Trinidad.

According to him, this genre of music has helped to influence and ignite gang behaviour in the twin island republic, as seen in more serious crimes being committed.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service was put on alert to prevent Jamaican artiste Romain Anderson, more popular know as ‘Black Ryno’ from entering the country for a concert on the weekend.

However, Anderson was given clearance before the police could block his entry.
