T&T PM refuses debate offer

Trinidad and Tobago\'s Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, has rejected an invitation to participate in a political debate with his main rival, Kamla Persad Bissessar, of the opposition United National Congress.



The country\'s Chamber of Industry and Commerce invited the leaders of the two major parties contesting the May 24 general election to a televised national debate on the issues.



However, Mr Manning said he has nothing to gain from such a debate and will not be participating.
