Cristiano Ronaldo scored a last-gasp winner as Real Madrid kept their Primera Division hopes alive in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 win against Osasuna last night.

Ronaldo headed home his second goal of the game in the89th minute as Madrid, who twice trailed, moved back to within a point of leaders Barcelona, with three games remaining.

It was Madrid’s 17th win in 18 league encounters at the Bernabeu this season, but they had to do it the hard way after Osasuna went ahead through first half goals from Carlos Aranda and Krisztian Vadocz.

Real Mallorca remain in pole position for the last Champions League place following an impressive 3-1 win at Athletic Bilbao.

Real Mallorca had been overtaken by Sevilla earlier, after they defeated Atletico Madrid by the same scoreline, but Gregorio Manzano’s side produced possibly their finest away performance of the season to move back into fourth with three games remaining.
