Australia, India secure victory
A blazing half century from Shane Watson and incisive fast bowling from Dirk Nannes and Shaun Tait guided Australia to a 34-run victory over defending champions Pakistan, at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium in St Lucia.
Watson struck a masterful 81 as Australia, having won the toss and batted, were dismissed for 191 in 20 overs. Nannes three for 20 and Tait three for 41 then combined to take three wickets each as Pakistan folded for 157 in 20 overs.
In the earlier match, Suresh Raina struck the first century of the 2010 Championship as India secured victory over South Africa by 14 runs.
Sent in by South Africa, India posted a challenging 186 for five in 20 overs, with Raina plundering a stroke-filled 101.
India then restricted the South Africans to 172 for five off 20 overs, to earn their second consecutive win of the tournament, having beaten Afghanistan by seven wickets on Saturday. India have now qualified for the Super Eights.
