Cuban minister sacked

Cuban President, Raul Castro, has fired his influential transport minister, Jorge Luis Sierra, and accepted the resignation of the minister responsible for sugar, Luis Manuel Avila Gonzalez.
An official note read on Cuban television news said the transport minister was dismissed for errors committed in the performance of his functions.
The note also said the sugar minister asked for his own release upon recognising the deficiencies of his work.
