Australia beat Bangladesh by 27 runs

Michael Hussey hit an unbeaten 47 and Dirk Nannes claimed 4 for 18 today to lead Australia to a 27-run win over Bangladesh, taking their team and Pakistan through to the Super Eights stage of the World 20/20 Championship.



The match was played at Kensington Oval in Barbados.



Australia struggled early with the bat before Hussey and allrounder Steve Smith, who made 27 off 18 deliveries lift their team from trouble at 65 for 6 to a competitive total of 141 for 7.



Bangladesh left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan claimed 2 for 24, while pacer Mashrafe Mortaza took 2 for 28.



The pace of Nannes and fellow opening bowler Shaun Tait was too much as Bangladesh were bowled out for 114 in the 19th over.



In the second game; South Africa sent in to bat by Afghanistan were 116 for five after 17 overs.



The winner of the match will advance out of Group ‘C’ along with India to the Super Eights.
