T&T murders

Two people, including a 19-year-old pregnant woman, were killed in the volatile Laventille area, in Trinidad and Tobago this morning.



The police say Jamilia Des Vignes, who was six months pregnant and 28-year-old Moses Keaton were killed instantly during the early morning incident that also left six other persons injured.



The two were killed after unidentified gunmen in a vehicle fired upon a group of persons attending a wake.



No motive has yet been given for the incident but law enforcement authorities are working on the theory that it may have been gang-related.



More than 100 people have been murdered in Trinidad and Tobago since 2010.
