St Kitts Opposition leader faces leadership challenge
The leader of the main opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM), Lindsay Grant, is facing a leadership challenge after two senior members confirmed that they had sent a letter to the party’s chairman, Sydney Osbourne, on the issue.
Another PAM candidate, Glenroy Blanchette, confirmed that he too had called for Grant to step aside.
He has said he will not discuss party issues in the public domain.
Two other PAM candidates, Louie Williams and Juni Hodge, who appeared on a local radio programme on Friday, declined to say whether they had challenged Grant’s leadership, insisting that the matter is an internal party affair.
The four PAM members have categorically denied meeting or making arrangements to hold talks with Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas, on initiating steps to remove Grant.
