St Lucian government to monitor deportees

The Stephenson King administration is moving to establish a programme to monitor criminal deportees who are being returned to St Lucia from the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.



According to National Security Minister, Guy Mayers, most of these individuals, having migrated several years ago, are being sent back to the country after committing crimes.



He says criminal deportees are one of the factors behind St Lucia’s crime situation.



It is for this reason the government has decided to set up a system to monitor them.
