US relay teams take Olympic medals appeal to CAS

The sports world\'s highest court is now hearing an appeal by seven U.S. sprinters seeking to regain the Olympic relay medals stripped from them because of doping by Marion Jones.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport yesterday heard lawyers for the women challenging the International Olympic Committee\'s decision to strip the U.S. relay medals from the 2000 Sydney Games.

The move came after Jones admitted using performance-enhancing drugs at the time.

The U.S. won gold in the 4 by 400 relay and bronze in the 4 by 100 relay.

Jones\' relay teammates say they should not be punished for her cheating.

A ruling on the appeal is not expected for several weeks.
