Brazil awards Guyanese soldier

Guyana’s Defence Force Chief of Staff has been awarded the Order of Military Merit by Brazilian President Luiz Ignacio Lula Da Silva.
Brazil’s Georgetown-based ambassador says Commodore Gary Best was given the award for being the driving force behind more productive cooperation between Guyana and Brazil in the field of defence.
Commodore Best is the first Guyanese to receive the award.
