A new Ship Boarding Agreement has been signed between St Vincent and the Grenadines and the United States as part of an initiative to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, who signed on behalf of his country, says the agreement is an important one because there is a large number of ships that carry the St Vincent and the Grenadines flag.
Barbados-based US diplomat, Brent Hardt, says the agreement underscores the close relationship that the United States enjoys with St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Charge d\'Affaires Hardt says the US will maintain its strong traditional commitment to the Caribbean region.
