UK coalition cabinet meeting

UK Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to announce the ministers in his coalition government following his first Cabinet meeting this morning.

He’s also expected to announce further Liberal Democrat appointments.

There are expected to be 20 Liberal Democrat ministers at all levels across many departments.

This means that more than a third of their 57 MPs will be members of the government.

Meanwhile, during the meeting, cabinet members were reportedly encouraged to keep their differences quiet and told that a special coalition committee co-chaired by Mr Cameron and Mr. Clegg, will be set up to provide a forum to thrash out any disagreements.

The BBC says cabinet members have been banned from having their mobile phones and Blackberrys with them during meetings.
