St Andrew wins JTA Championships

St Andrew easily retained the Jamaica Teachers’ Association/Sagicor National Primary, All-Age and Junior High Schools Championships at the National Stadium.



With 49 nine of the 50 finals completed the team has amassed 319 points over the two days, 179 ahead of second place Portland on 240.



St Elizabeth with 221, Kingston 167 and St Catherine 164 complete the top five.



Today’s final day produced two records, both by St Andrew.



Raje Fearon accounted for the first record today when he won the Boys Under-15 200 metres in 23.78, to shatter the 2005 mark of 23.82 set by Jevaughn Spencer of St James.



Later in the day, the St Andrew’s 4 x 100-metre relay team took the sprint relay in 46.85 to erase the previous mark of 46.98 set in 2005 by St James.
