Trinidad’s Deputy political leader of the ruling People\'s National Movement (PNM), Ken Valley, is calling for the removal of Prime Minister Patrick Manning as the party\'s leader.

Mr. Valley is also suggesting that the dismissed Trade and Industry Minister Dr. Keith Rowley challenge Manning as his replacement.

Valley, who was among a number of ministers not selected as candidates to contest last November\'s general election, said its necessary that Manning be challenged during the upcoming party convention.

Last year, Mr. Valley reportedly warned that the party should challenge the leadership of Prime Minister Manning if it intends to remain in power.
