Barbadian competitors arrive for CMRC

The father and son team of Doug and Mark Maloney arrived in the country yesterday for the first leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC).



The Barbadians will participate at the Labour Day meet at Dover Raceway on Monday, May 24.



Another team from Guyana is scheduled to arrive this afternoon.



The championship will be contested in two classes, two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.



Drivers such as Jamaica’s Peter ‘Bull’ Thompson and Peter Rae, along with Guyana’s Andrew King, Mark and Paul Vieira and Mark Maloney of Barbados, will compete for the two-wheel drive title.



Defending champion David Summerbell, Chris Campbell, Doug Gore, Gary Williams and Guy Fraser of Jamaica will take on Maloney of Barbados and Kevin Jeffrey of Guyana for the four-wheel title.
