Veteran midfielder Steve Green and defender Kimarlee Flemming, who played for Tivoli Gardens Football Club, have been released from police custody after they were detained during the on going operation by the security forces in Tivoli Gardens.

President of Tivoli Gardens Football Club, Edward Seaga yesterday confirmed the players’ release.

Seaga, a former prime minister of Jamaica, says the players were picked up shortly after the security team moved into the west Kingston community in search of Christopher \'Dudus\' Coke, who’s facing extradition to the United States.

However, Seaga says the players were released from police custody when it was found out they were footballers.

Seaga says about half of the Tivoli Gardens’ squad lives inside the community.

There have been violent gun battles in the community since this week between the security forces and armed supporters of Coke.
