Grenada\'s civil society has set May 30 as the date to present a Code of Conduct to political parties and politicians contesting the upcoming general elections.
The code calls on politicians to address issues and principles dealing with national growth, sustainable development and concerns of the people while maintaining high moral principles.
The Grenada Community Development Organisation said its necessary to reactive the code, because of increasing levels of unethical behaviour, which have already occurred in the pre-election campaigning period.
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell said he would make the announcement of the election date at the next major rally of his new National Party.
The poll is not constitutionally due until 2009.
