Jamaican jockey Winston Thompson posted another double triumph this week to secure a share of the early lead at the new Suffolk Downs horseracing season in East Boston, Massachusetts.
After winning twice at Saturday’s season-opening meet at the East Boston Oval, Thompson returned to land the first and fourth races at mid-week.
With four wins after the fist two race days of the 2008 season, the four-time Suffolk Downs champion rider shares the lead with David Amiss and Norberto Arroyo.
Over at Belmont in New York, young Jamaican jockey Rajiv Maragh logged two victories to stay atop the early jockeys’ championship race.
