Bird seeks medical care in US

Antigua\'s opposition leader Lester Bird is seeking medical attention in the United States.



A statement from Mr. Bird’s office says he had recently been experiencing pain and discomfort.



It says the opposition leader’s condition is not deemed to be life threatening but it’s repetitive and tiresome.



His local doctors had reportedly advised that the matter should be attended to by a specialist and resolved as soon as possible.



Mr. Bird says his illness has not affected his work schedule, although it has limited his ability to stand for long periods.
