A senior St. Lucian government minister is calling for a regional solution to crime problems linked to the number of criminals deported to the Caribbean.
Attorney General Dr. Nicholas Frederick says these deportees are the main reasons for an increase in criminal activities in the sub-region.
Addressing a three-day meeting of Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Attorneys General, Frederick also said it is imperative that countries of the sub-region collaborate to address the crime problem.
St. Lucia like many other Caribbean countries are grappling with the problems posed by convicted felons who are deported to the region from North America and Canada.
