Ganga gets key post in Sports Ministry
National captain Daren Ganga has landed a top post in the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
This was revealed by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar at the West Indies Players Association Awards (WIPA) Ceremony.
Ganga was appointed the executive director of the developmental unit of SPORTT. He will take up duties from July 1.
SPORTT serves as the developmental arm of the Ministry of Sports, and funds and oversees major projects.
Persad-Bissessar, recently elected following general elections last month, also said Ganga would serve as government’s Sports Ambassador.
The 31-year-old will represent Trinidad and Tobago’s sporting interests on the regional and international stage.
Ganga, who has played 48 Tests, says he will continue to play for T&T despite his new position.
