The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) says despite the progress made, HIV/AIDS remains a pressing challenge within the region.
Guyana’s Charge d’Affairs to the United Nations, George Talbot, told the UN’s General Assembly Review of International Efforts Against HIV/AIDS that a “renewed focus on prevention efforts is needed to reach the most at-risk population groups.
He says efforts by CARICOM states, through the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS, to mobilise technical support and resources have become a challenge in light of global crises.
