Government to cushion rising oil prices

St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said the government would be putting subsidies in place to cushion the effects of rising oil prices.



The prices of petroleum products will be increased in St Vincent today.



The St Vincent opposition leader is expressing concern about the anticipated effects.



Arnhim Eustace, who heads the New Democratic Party, said the increases would be felt across the local economy.
