The St Lucian government has lost an appeal at the highest court of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) in a case involving duty free concessions being granted to a government minister.

The OECS Court of Appeal handed down its judgment yesterday, in what became known as the Tuxedo Villas affair.

The Appeals Court upheld the judgment of a High Court that the cabinet acted illegally in granting duty free concessions to Health Minister Dr Keith Mondesir, who owns the Tuxedo Villas.
