The leader of the opposition in St. Lucia has called for fresh elections because of what he views as a crisis within the police force and within the government.

Dr. Kenny Anthony made the call amid the current impasse in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force between the British-born police commissioner and rank and file members.

Dr. Anthony also suggested that the infighting within the governing party is hurting the country\'s prospects.
